The Commission did not recently cut by 30% the funds allocated for research and accident prevention in the European Union.

The proposals for funding concerning accident and injury prevention, submitted under the 2003 funding round of the Community Program for Public Health, are currently at the evaluation stage. A decision regarding the selection of projects for funding is expected soon. During the selection process, various projects related to accidents and injuries were submitted.
