New book by Anna Karamano for the 200th anniversary of 1821.

“The Peaceful Uprising of Female SAPIENS 1821-2021.”

“The Peaceful Uprising of Female SAPIENS 1821-2021” is the title of the new book by Professor of Political Science and former politician Anna Karamanou, which was presented last Saturday in the presence of many friends and political figures from the country.

It is an historical journey, as the author from Ilia refers to it, with the “women’s issue” evolving alongside historical events. It is a gift for the homeland in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of liberation.

Among the topics addressed by the author are the influence of European and Neo-Hellenic Enlightenment, the role of the Greek diaspora and the West, as well as the participation of women in the struggle against the Ottoman Empire.

The content of the book was analyzed by Nadia Giannakopoulou, MP for PASOK – Movement for Change, Dionysis Gousetis, columnist for Kathimerini, Anna Diamantopoulou, President of the Network for Reform in Greece & Europe, former EU Commissioner and former Minister, Maria Repousi, historian, professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, former MP for DIMAR, and the author of the book, Anna Karamanou.
