Pyrgos: The new book of Anna Karamanu is presented today.

The Cultural Association of Bank Employees of Ilia and the Secretariat for Gender Equality of OTOE are organizing the presentation of Anna Karamanu’s book.
“The Europe and Women’s Rights – Europeanization in Greece and Turkey” (Papazisis Editions).

The event will take place today at 7 p.m. at the Conference Center of the Regional Unit of Ilia in Pyrgos (Manolopoulou 31). The author, who is originally from Pyrgos, will also be present at the event.

The event will be greeted by:

Kostas Triantafillopoulos, President of the Cultural Association of Bank Employees of the Prefecture of Ilia

Achilleas Mylonopoulos, General Secretary of the Federation of Banking Organizations of Greece (OTOE)

The speakers for the book will be:
Rodi Kratsa, President of the Institute of Democracy Konstantinos Karamanlis, former MEP, First Vice President of the European Parliament, Sociologist, Master’s in European Integration.
Maria Stratigaki, Deputy Mayor for Social Solidarity, Welfare & Gender Equality of the Municipality of Athens, Professor of Sociology at Panteion University.
Sophia Kanta, Board Member and Secretary for Gender Equality at OTOE, Member of the Presidium and Executive Committee of UNI-Europa, Vice President of the UNI-Europa Women’s Committee.
Anna Karamanu, former Member of the European Parliament, former Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality, PhD in Political Science & Public Administration from the University of Athens.
The event will be moderated by Irini Nikopoulou, journalist, blogger, and communication consultant.

The event will be attended by the Lyceum of Greek Women of Pyrgos, the Cultural Center of OTE Workers of N. Ilia, the Women’s Association of Pyrgos “Oi Pyrgiotisses”, and the Center for Solidarity and Development Cooperation of Ilia “Kallirroi Paren”.

The event will conclude with a performance by the Choir of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Pyrgos, presenting well-known musical pieces (conducted by Konstantina Sakka-Kyritsi, School Advisor for Music Education of Central Greece).
